Purchasing the book

The book is only available in electronic format at present and is downloadable as a PDF document. The book is sold through an external site known as Ebookland, who coordinate the payment and downloading process on my behalf.

The download price is $3.00 (US). The book is about 39,500 words long and you can view the table of contents at the bottom of the Introduction page. As I mentioned before, the download is in the form of a PDF document which is approximately 400K in size. You will need the Acrobat reader to access the book - this can be downloaded for free at the Adobe website (www.adobe.com).

I should say something about why I am selling this book online. Writing humour has been a hobby of mine for some time. It is my hope that some day this book will be accepted by a commercial publisher. However, I have no agent and few publishers will accept unsolicited books. It is difficult to convince those whom I have spoken to that a market exists for an Enid Blyton parody. Without doubt, the Blyton star has faded somewhat in recent years but it is a mistake to underestimate the genuine warmth with which Blyton is regarded by many generations across many countries.

Thus, I turn to the internet to promote my work, in the hope that sufficient interest will be generated for a publisher to take up this book. It was originally my plan to sell the book for a nominal price, but unfortunately Ebookland requires that works be sold for a minimum of US $2.98. It is a matter of genuine regret that I am not able to sell for a lower price, as my motivation is only to demonstrate that a market does exist for my book and it would be easier to sell more books at a lower price. However, this is unfortunately not a choice which has been left to me.
